Our Vision

Healthy Eating Solutions was founded in 2009 with our roots firmly planted in the promotion of healthy eating advice. We have a passionate interest in the interpretation, delivery and promotion of healthy eating initiatives to make healthy eating easier. We provide straight talking advice to equip participants with the know-how to make informed dietary behaviour changes.

Rupert Aikman

Founder and director – Rupert’s interest in nutrition was ignited upon returning to education and studying his BTEC Sports Science Diploma at New College Nottingham.  He then went on to become a graduate of Nottingham Trent University (BSc Hons Food & Nutrition) and the University of Sheffield (MMedSci Human Nutrition). Rupert is currently a member of the Nutrition Society. 

Prior to founding Healthy Eating Solutions Ltd, Rupert worked for several years as a community nutritionist for Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (LNDS) Primary Care Trust. His duties involved devising and delivering initiatives on the Food and Activities Buddies (FAB) weight management programme.

Rupert is a visiting lecturer at several colleges and universities, discussing and offering an insight into his career journey as a nutritionist. He is also actively involved in the healthy cooking community projects and a registered Level 2 Food Safety trainer. Additionally, he works as a healthy lifestyle tutor for Workers Educational Association (WEA) and Nottinghamshire County Council Inspire along with this role as a voluntary director of The Vine Community Centre, Hyson Green Nottingham.

Rupert is an ardent believer in being physically and mentally active and basing food choices on plant-based foods to reduce risk of dietary-related illnesses. He has an in-depth knowledge of the components of healthy eating, African-Caribbean diet and an associate director of BME Cancer Communities. He has regularly appeared on live radio broadcasts, sharing his knowledge and opinions on topical nutritional issues.

Alex Tolson

Alex is a third, and final year, Nutrition student at The University of Nottingham. With strong interests and knowledge in both clinical and community-based nutrition, and the relationship between diet and health.

Chris Downes

Chris is a fully qualified Swedish, Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage Therapist. Chris is uniquely placed to understand how personal performance can be affected and reduced by stress in the workplace.

 

Nicky Gray

Nicky is a specialist trainer and educator in food allergy, Coeliac disease, Food Safety and Food Intolerance. Nicky is also an ambassador for Allergy UK. 

Sarah abdula

Sarah has been a registered dietitian for the last 8 years and specialises in both weight management and diabetes. She has a vast array of experience working in both corporate and community settings delivering both clinical and health promotion work. Her passion is to support people to reach their nutrition goals and lead happier healthier lives!

Samantha Culshaw-Robinson

Sam is a an experienced workplace health and wellbeing consultant; NHS qualified mindfulness coach and hypnotherapist who delivers mindfulness courses and workshops inhouse and also one to one therapy sessions at her practice for staff.
